Shape model of the large main-belt asteroid (2) Pallas generated using high resolution images from the SPHERE instrument on the VLT (more details on this imaging survey are published in [this article](https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2021A%26A...654A..56V/abstract)). Pallas is the second asteroid to have been discovered, in 1802. It is the third largest asteroid in the main-belt with a volume equivalent diameter of 511 km. The images of Pallas by the VLT revealed a cratered surface looking like a golf ball, most likely the consequence of its high inclination and eccentricity (see [this article](https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2020NatAs...4..569M/abstract)).
