The hero Heracles, Nye Carlsberg Glyptotek (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with Memento. The Greek hero Heracles is recognised by the lion skin and the club. At a feast, Heracles was overcome by madness and killed a guest. As a punishment he was sent to Queen Omphale in Turkey, where he was obliged to dress in women´s clothes and carry out women´s work like spinning and weaving. Meanwhile, Omphale wore Heracle´s lion skin. A little girl is portrayed in the role and might have been placed in a sanctuary or on a tomb where she was protected by Heracle´s strength.
