Silicate Tetrahedra Corner-Sharing

Description

Two silicate tetrahedra joined by a corner oxygen. Si in ochre, O in red. Sharing corners diminishes the total negative charge per tetrahedron, so that more polymerized silicates also have less extra cations to balance out the electrical charge.
