Model of a 17th century complex hilt Italian rapier. A rapier like this is a thrust-centric weapon that still retains some cutting ability. It is not a light weapon, weighing 1220g which requires quite some physical conditioning to weld. It is also the longest type of single-handed weapon in western European history.
