Orange the unaffected gene Blue the affected gene Both parents must pass on an affected gene for a chance of getting albinism in this case. That’s what you call it recessive inheritance. One parent (who does not carry the albinism gene and does not have albinism) and one parent (who is a carrier of the albinism. In this case they have 4 children. Two children are not affected by albinism (they are not a person with albinism or a carrier) and two children who are carrier of the albinism gene. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or researcher just a mandarin in the bowl with other mandarins. If you have any medical questions, please see a doctor.
