Pillar with katana cut and spear holes

Description

In Daihouon-ji, a Buddhist temple and the oldest still standing structure of Kyoto built in 1226 you can see on several pillars the scratches and holes from the fights that happened during Onin war. During this war all Kyoto was on fire and this temple was the only one that survived. This temple is a National treasure of Japan.
