During the 1930s designs had been drawn up by the Danish navy for various vessels to modernise the existing navy. Part of this was a design for a capital coastal defence ship. The first represented by this 3D model was for a 5730 tonne vessel, armed with 4 - 250mm guns ( 2 gun mounts in 2 turrets) and 6- 150mm guns mounted in 3 turrets. The design speed was for 20 knots. Designs ranged from A-E, with variations on speed and armament, however due to a number of factors such as economic and internal politics, these vessels never passed the design stage. When 1940 rolled round any future where these designs could be laid down, slipped away as Germany Invaded and occupied Denmark.
