Packaging for a medicine from “The Hungarian Crown” pharmacy in Lviv The presented packaging comes from the “Pod Węgierską Koroną” (“The Hungarian Crown”) pharmacy in Lviv, located at 1 Bernardyński Square. It was one of the oldest pharmacies in the city; its history dates back to the mid-18th century. “Pills against neuralgia of the head according to the prescription of Prfs. Dr. A. Czyżewicza c.k., health consultant” contained antipyrine (a synthetic agent with analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties), Coffeae tostae pulveratae (roasted coffee powder) and Coffeinum natrium salicylicum (a mixture of caffeine and salicylic acid).
