Whitetail deer femur

Description

Femur (right leg) of a yearling whitetailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). Deer was from the piedmont region of North Carolina, USA. Note the unfused epiphiseal plate (faint line on surface of model) at the distal end of the shaft of the bone, indicating the bone had not quite finished growing.
