This is a plastinated human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 51 year old female with a history of hypertension and heart failure. Some parts of this model were treated with a 3D scanning spray prior to imaging. The slicing allows for great appreication of the trebeculation of the heart. In addition, the atrioventricular valves and papillary muscles can be seen very well. We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
