Apollo 11 Lunar Landing Site

Description

The Apollo 11 landing site in the Sea of Tranquility on July 20th to 21st 1969. The Eagle lunar landing module descent stage can be clearly seen along with the retroreflector, seismometer and astronaut tracks of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Armstrong's walk out to the rim of Little West Crater can be seen as a faint darker line. Model created from NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter data including a 2 metre resolution elevation model overlain by a 50 cm orthomosaic image.
