Description

Agriculture developed so successfully that trade began to develop along with it. The largest cities grew up precisely at the intersections of trade routes, and then a metal currency appeared, initially without coinage — in the form of ingots or just pieces of metal. The currency was predominantly silver. The coins that appeared later were cast by weight.
