It is comparable to a Defiant in size and function and is built with two aims in mind: 1. Fit in the space between the nacelles of the E-class 2. Not win any beauty contests The F-class is built tight, with the warp core integrated into the primary saucer. The space between the nacelles is entirely a cargo bay cum hangar which can hold multiple wings of Pirahna class fighters, or loads of photon torpedoes depending on mission profile.
