The Reñihue Valley corresponds to the last great valley in Chile that has not been intervened by humans, uniting flora, fauna and fungus from the highest Andean peaks to the Pacific Ocean. This remote and isolated valley in the Lakes Region is home to an enormous diversity of plants, animals and fungi. It has complete continuity between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, constituting not only a terrestrial corridor, but also a marine one, as the fjord is also home to dolphins, killer whales, the southernmost cold corals on the planet and an enormous diversity of birds. Reñihué Nature Conservancy Foundation aims to investigate the biodiversity of the Reñihué Valley through innovative methodologies that integrate scientific robustness with artistic sensitivity.
