Showalter Venus

Description

The Showalter Fountain in Fine Arts Square features a sculpture in the center called “The Birth of Venus.” The fountain was a gift from Grace Montgomery Showalter in 1958 and was designed by Robert Laurent (1890-1970), a sculpture professor at Indiana University. Fortunately, Laurent made two spare fish for the fountain, as two fish were damaged in May 2015. Image courtesy of BtownTourism.com.
