An Italian [albarello](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300198823) or drug-jar, of waisted cylindrical shape. On the centre-front is a portrait of a man in an oval frame which is surrounded by foliated, scroll work and [sgraffito](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300053367) in blue, yellow and white. Similar to [CG 036 A](https://www.huntmuseum.com/explore/item/c83cac25-bb92-32da-a388-eb7e3721ccf3/?s%3DCG+036+A&pos=1). These popular portrait pieces emphasize character rather than beauty.
