Rufous Casiornis *Casiornis rufus* [MLZ 65991](http:///arctos.database.museum/guid/MLZ:Bird:65991) 24 September 1927 Rio Surutu Santa Cruz, Bolivia Collected by J. Steinbach Physical specimen held by the Moore Laboratory of Zoology, Occidental College, Los Angeles, CA A lesser-known species, the Rufous Casiornis is one of two species belonging to the genus *Casiornis*. Little information is known about this species, but it is generally considered an Austral Migrant, meaning they breed in temperate regions of South America and migrate north for winter (as opposed to the birds in North America, which migrate south for winter).
