A single ballast stone is found at a shipwreck site thought to be that of the Havana-based pirate slave ship *Guerrero*, wrecked near Key Largo, Florida in 1827. The stone is part of a broader group of such stones found at the southern end of the site. The ballast stones are distinguishable at this site because they are rounder, darker and harder than the limestone and coral rubble found naturally in the Florida reef environment. Scale = 20 centimeters.
