Assyrian stele from Nimrud's palace

Description

This is an Assyrian stele from Nimrud (Iraq). Nimrud was the capital of the Assyrian empire under the kingdom of Ashurnasirpal II. The city had nearly 100.000 inhabitants. King Shalmaneser III built the palace. This stele was destroyed by the terrorist organization known as ISIS in 2015.
