Lectotype Figured by Pavlow (in Pavlow and Lamplugh 1892, p. 127, pl. 14, fig. 1) as Olcostephanus (Polyptychites Lamplughi sp. n. This is one of three syntypes, two from Speeton and one from Germany (the specimen figured by Struckmann 1887 as Ammonites (Olcostephanus) portlandicus).
