This enormous piece of petrified wood tree trunk was one of the largest fossils I have ever retrieved! When I found it, it was underwater and wedged underneath another giant rock. We had to winch that rock away, make a sled, and then drag it 3km (2mi) back to the car. It took 3 days! Sections of it has turned into fool's gold (iron pyrite) making it really shine in the sun. [Watch me struggle to fetch it on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVKYSJm7NX8) Photogrammetry was used to create the 3D model. Age: ~80 million years old (Cretaceous) Location: South Island, New Zealand Size: 620mm long, 420mm wide, 450mm high (24" x 16.5" x 18") Weight: ~200kg (~440lbs)
