Description

Complex fault plane, with older slip surfaces disrupted. Normal fault separating younger carbonatic rocks from older volcanic rocks. At the fault, the volcanic rocks are so damaged and altered that form easily erodible clays, so the fault plane in the carbonates sticks out like a wall. El Playazo, Cabo de Gata natural park, southern Spain.
