Organic Limestone

Description

'Organic' limestone would be lime rock composed largely or mostly of the shells and hard calcium carbonate remains of marine life. The adjective 'organic' is not often used nowadays, since it is not too specific, and can refer to any organic material, including, for instance, carbon (oil). Rock group: sedimentary; Main minerals: calcite (fragments of calcareous animals)
