8-Directional Space-Filling Array v.2

Description

An alternate array using an 8-directional coordinate system. In this array, major 56-faced cells connect by vertices in a ring that surrounds the original cell. The centers of all 9 cells lie in a plane. The pattern can continue along the polar axis, and laterally in relation to the axis, with all the spaces between cells filled with subcells within the system. Note the 8 rhombic dodecahedra between the original and the ring. Made with vZome.
