Shell of Timothy the spur-thighed tortoise

Description

Timothy the tortoise belonged to the naturalist and ornithologist Gilbert White, who died in 1793. After Timothy died, she was found to be a female. She is a Greek or spur-thighed tortoise, *Testudo graeca*. Laser scan with applied photo textures. Length 24cm. NHM 1947.3.4.40
